💎 Proper jewelry care – How to keep your favorite piece beautiful for longer
🧼 1. Clean your jewelry regularly
Why? Over time, skin oils, perfume, sweat, and dust cause jewelry to become dull or discolored.
Here's how:
* Silver jewelry: Clean with a silver polishing cloth or lukewarm water & mild soap.
* Gold-plated jewelry: Wipe only with a soft cloth – no harsh cleaning agents!
* Gemstones: Dab with a damp, soft cloth – do not soak.
📦 2. Store correctly
Air, light, and moisture are the enemy of beautiful jewelry. Therefore:
✅ Store in a jewelry box with a soft lining.
✅ Do not store in the bathroom (too humid!)
✅ Store individual pieces separately to prevent scratching.
💧 3. Remove before showering or sleeping
Water, shampoo, or sweat can damage jewelry. Therefore:
🚫 Not while showering, bathing, playing sports, or carrying to sleep
🚫 Do not spray perfume or hairspray directly onto jewelry.
💡 Tip: Always put on your jewelry after styling your hair!
🛠️ 4. Take it to a professional every now and then
Especially with expensive jewelry, it's worth having it checked by a jeweler once or twice a year.
For example, you can reattach loose stones or remove scratches.
